Marielle García

Painting

MARIELLE GARCIA.png

Marielle García is an artist with a profound fascination for the human figure. One of the most distinctive qualities of her work is the handling of gesture and the detail in microexpressions — as a universal language capable of conveying happiness, sadness, innocence, disbelief, and even intimacy, a quality that manifests in her deep preference for capturing gazes.

She trained with several masters from Puebla and grew artistically under the guidance of her father, the renowned painter Fidel García. Marielle held her first exhibition at the age of 17 at the Museo de la Acuarela in Toluca. Since then she has accumulated more than 100 solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries across Mexico, the United States, and Spain, including the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City.

Through her works, Marielle promotes an awareness of the self and of the present moment. Her intention is to reflect on ourselves as individuals and as a society, seeking through art a means of communication and an invitation for the viewer to connect with others.

In 2017, Forbes México recognized her as one of "The Most Creative Mexicans in the World."

"Each brushstroke awakens me to see my spirit freely… I paint to observe, to discern, and in doing so, to enjoy simplicity."
